Pool Tools - Stretch-Cord One Spot

By Glenn Mills to All Strokes (IM) | Aug 24, 2010 05:19AM | 3 comments 3 comments

Continuing with fun games to play with stretch cords in swimming, it's time to introduce a bit more learning and pain. Sorry, no matter what you hear to the contrary, it's part of the sport.

True or false: Swim practices can be physically challenging, mentally challenging, and fun...all at the same time?

Pool Tools - Stretch-Cord Release

By Glenn Mills to All Strokes (IM) | Aug 24, 2010 05:00AM | 0 comments 0 comments

Here's a REALLY fun way to add some productive fun to your practices. Stretch-Cord Release takes the lessons learned from resisted swimming and converts them directly into actual swimming.

Swimming Set of the Week - July 31, 2009

By Barbara Hummel to Set of the Week | Jul 31, 2009 09:27AM | 0 comments 0 comments

This week's set is actually several short sets that we combined into a stations workout for Masters practice this morning. The hula-hoop station was hilarious. If you don't have this exact list of equipment, just improvise with whatever cool equipment or challenges you can think of.

Classic - Freestyle - Stretch-Cord Speed

By Glenn Mills to Freestyle | Jun 23, 2009 07:01AM | 6 comments 6 comments

Ever wonder how it would feel to be an Olympic swimmer? Not the pride and glory part, but the in-the-water part - how it would feel to have the water moving past you THAT FAST.

Here is part of our practice from this morning. A little trick we saw last week from the big guy, J.L.

Breaststroke - Wall Pull

By Glenn Mills to Breaststroke | Nov 25, 2008 09:28AM | 3 comments 3 comments

Knowing how to move your hands side to side in breaststroke, rather than pulling back is a skill all swimmers need to learn. This "fun" drill is a great way to see if you're able to do it effectively.
