Difficult decision - need your help

Hiya I has a really difficult decision - the gym named DW Fitness gym in Southport, they has awesome dryland workout such as free weights, medicine balls, TRX, plymetric workout device, everything you can imagine which can boost swimmers' performance and plus a cafe which has supplements such as creatine, protein bar/drink energy drink, food etc but their pool is so crap as its public pool so its not a proper pool. And other one is Marshside gym, their pool is a proper 25m pool (top class) but their gym are so outdated (70s), hasn't got medicine balls, TRX and go on. Also they don't have a cafe like DW so its setback for me.

I can't afford do it both to pay monthy so what your advice?

I don't understand why you need a cafe. I prepare all my own food and bring it to my workouts. Better to prepare your own. You know exactly what is in it and it's cheaper, too. Plus I don't take any protein supplements like creatine, etc... I truly don't believe that stuff is necessary. You can get all you need from real, whole foods. Yogurt. Nuts. Eggs. Plus lots of veggies and fruits. PB&J of course.

As Lance says... It's not about the bike. Your muscles don't know how pretty the weight is that you're lifting. Heck, wanna get strong and fit and don't have money, do 1,000 push ups and sit ups everyday. Won't cost you a penny. However, a good pool can offer more space to swim in, smoother water, cleaner water. I'd default to the nice pool 100% of the time. Run to the club instead of driving or riding. Land fitness can be had in thousands of ways. Swimming needs a good pool. My opinion.

Agree with Glenn. And if you need a protein drink, fine, you can buy the mix/powder and make your own. I disagree with that, though. And know very fit, muscular people who also disagree. Heck, I'm 12-13% body fat woman at age 50. Train 10-15 hours per week. Use no supplements or protein powders. But do what works for you.

PB&J before my swim. I get a bad case of acid reflux if I drink coffee or bring in left over pasta. Protein my friend with natural sugar and carbs does my fuel tank before a hr swim. Gosh, I was wanting to break a sweat in a cold pool on friday. Had my PB&J on HW bread and did "what I call" Basketball line sprints. Swim to the black line flipturn. swim to wall, flipturn before wall. swim to 1st set of flags flip turn and so on. That simple sammy on whole wheat with skippy and my mom's raspberry preserve keeps me flying.. Give it a try for a week. My kids love it too.

Thanks, Chris. I had a great birthday. I couldn't run my race that day (injured) but I did go out and test-ride a really nice $8K Orbea tri bike. Best part of the day. I can't buy it, but it was a lot of fun to ride. ;)

Somebody would actually spend 8000 dollars for a 2 wheel vehicle? Is is Handmade by the monks of Sand Schwinn New Mexico? I'd get a 1965 mustang convertible sky blue. Yikes that's insane. Fun birthday ride!

You miss something Glenn and Sheila, look at awesome swimmers such as Ryan Lochte, Alain Bernard, Fred Bouquest, Liam Tancock, Michael Phelps, go on.... they are not that skinny as they are so musclely cos they trains in top quality gym and plenty of supplements such as protein drink etc.
