Endless Pool Elite Stroke Training System

Posted by Glenn Mills on Jul 01, 2011 08:18AM (2,245 views)

I spent some time at the Endless Pools headquarters swimming and coaching in the new Elite Stroke Training System.

Here's a short video put together by Endless Pools.

I've owned a pool for many years, but this new pool is amazing, and we've had some of the top swimmers in the world in it.  It could be an amazing addition to any program, so if you have any interest in something like this at all, drop me a note and I can give you some more insights on what this can do for you.

Yes we do.
João has a triathlete that he coaches interested in one.
Hope we shall contact soon on this matter.

An estimative cost for a such trainning system ?

Responded Jul 04, 2011 11:32AM

Endless Pools has systems that start as low as around $5,000 US, and go up from there.

When I installed my pool almost 10 years ago, I had no idea that it would become the "GO TO" training aid in the area! There simply is NOTHING like an Endless Pool for the coach and the swimmer, as we can accomplish in an hour what some programs take nearly a season to even find....! 400+ triathletes and swimmers later, the EP still rocks!

Wow. Awesome. Jealous of the swimmers of tomorrow...

Responded Jul 05, 2011 06:40PM

Is not swimming against a current very different than swimming in a pool with no current?

Responded Jul 05, 2011 07:03PM

Wow... how do I find one near me?

Also, responding to the note above about the difference between current vs no current... As an engineer, I would saying it's the relative velocity. The only difference might be still water surface vs. disturbed...and competing in short course NCAA relays, this is no where close to the disturbed of that environment. Some of the shots Glenn gave us (overhead on the breast stroke) showed a very smooth surface. I think this is a great feed back tool...I just need one available to me!

...and Glenn, how do you have 20 medals and I only have 10?

Responded Jul 05, 2011 08:34PM

What? I only have 20? I'm gonna have to get working on that. ;)

Responded Jul 05, 2011 08:36PM

that's better!

Responded Jul 05, 2011 08:40PM

Figured you'd want to be one taller than me. ;)

Responded Jul 06, 2011 04:14AM

I am taller, just look at the pictures!

Responded Jul 06, 2011 05:49PM

Glenn! you did 20.000 yards a day??.. For how many years??.. That's almost unimaginable!
You still must have great endurance!... Quite impressive! ...19 km swimming in one day!
!!!! ... What about swimming from Cuba to Florida. (Diane Nyad is going for it and planning to start one of these days in July). (This took me to a side track).

Responded Jul 06, 2011 05:52PM

We trained a LOT back in the old days. 6 days a week... plus an hour of dryland. Endurance was never a problem. :)
