Swimming Set of the Week - August 6, 2010

Working IM and breath control this week.

Set is 2800 meters or yards.  Fins are optional on the IMs.  Pull buoys are optional on the freestyle breathe-control 25s.

1 X 400 IM

7 X 25 freestyle, try for 2 breaths or fewer; do 3 or 4 bobs as recovery between 25s.
1 X 25 freestyle up tempo; breathe as much as you want

2 X 300 IM (25 kick + 25 drill + 25 swim in each stroke)

7 X 25 freestyle, try for 2 breaths or fewer; do 3 or 4 bobs as recovery between 25s.
1 X 25 freestyle up tempo; breathe as much as you want

3 X 200 freestyle pull; descend time 1 to 3

7 X 25 freestyle, try for 2 breaths or fewer; do 3 or 4 bobs as recovery between 25s.
1 X 25 freestyle up tempo; breathe as much as you want

4 X 100 IM; descend time on 3 and 4

7 X 25 breaststroke with double pulldown on :40 sendoff
1 X 25 breaststroke up tempo with normal pull down

Relaxed and rhythmic breathing. Three bobs equals 3 relaxed breaths. If you want to read more about them, here's a link:
