I am amazed at how relaxed his hand is and the consistency of the wake. Great shot as usual Glenn.

I'd imagine you get that kind of wake when you are able to put out as much power as him in each pull and kick.

he looks so relaxed indeed

Juliette, I think you may be surprised when Jason talks about his fingers. :)

Can't WAIT to see this video Glenn!!

Juliette,
Why close fingers? Semiopened palm is faster.

Responded Jun 16, 2009 04:13PM

Semi-opened works better if you space it right. The trick is not to keep the fingers opened too wide. Thus, with novices, I still stress fingers closed. When they get to an elite level, then I will teach them semi-opened. He looks like he is just about to splash down in that pic. He's got some serious splash-age with his right arm.

I see great shoulder extension and rotation. It seems to be watching his hand. Appears that there are very few bubbles from his hand entry and I agree that his digits could be a little closer. Do any of you feel that his left arm should be a little bit more ahead of where it is? Could this be a pose shot?

Great shoulder rotation.
