Water proves life could exist on Mars? Could be one of Glenn's head high practices? But, with the wide lane, the swimmer is just about to round a marker buoy, simulating Open Water competition, at a guess.

I suspect that someone was setting up a buoy in a pool for a triathlon clinic. You know, deep water starts, buoy turns, drafting...with one or many(!) swimmers. And it was fun :-)
