Swimming Set of the Week - April 10, 2009

 Breaststroke set this week  Go get it.

10 X 200 with paddles and pull buoy, swum as 100 freestyle + 50 backstroke + 25 FAST heads-up breaststroke + 25 whole-stroke breaststroke (do breaststroke kick, holding the pull buoy between your legs as usual)

#1: on approx. 40 seconds rest
#2 & #3:  take :10 off your original sendoff
#4 & #5:  take another :05 off your sendoff
#6 & #7:  take another :05 off your sendoff
#8 & #9:  take another :05 off your sendoff
#10:  take another :05 off your sendoff

Head-up breaststroke is a drill?. I didn't found it.

Please, what is "breaststroke kick, holding the pull buoy between your legs as usual"? Could you clarify : I never did this kind of drill. Virgi

Hi Virgi. Put a pull-buoy on as you usually would, and kick breaststroke with it. Make sure the buoy doesn't come out. This means you're going to have to use a very narrow kick. Here's an old article that explains it a bit more:
