Well, if it's 5:55am ... I see where I really don't want to be, but know I need to be.

Brrrrrr....

The calm before a storm hits.

Part 1 - Clean smooth water, that is what you always want, like when you are out in front of your heat.

Part 2 - The chance to whip that into some white water!!

The reflection of silly banners hanging overhead. What are they for? Are they intended to try to make people feel upbeat or jovial? And the reflection of what appears to be a CD or DVD. Probably a GoSwim Instructional DVD.

The "silly banners" are backstroke flags. They're used to alert swimmers that they're 5 yards from the wall. I have no idea what the circle is, but it's a reflection of something on the wall. What did you think, I'm doing subliminal advertising?

However, I do feel more upbeat and jovial when I see backstroke flags, so you may have a point there.

What's a pool doing being emply of swimmers at almost 6am? Bring it on to North Idaho

Responded Sep 28, 2007 09:02PM

I TOTALLY agree with you mearin. It's a public pool, and the doors open a couple minutes before 6, then we all rush in. Our morning practices started at 5:15 after 15 minutes of stretching. I wish this pool opened earlier... I find myself WAITING for it to open. :)

Tom52BrklynNY,

It looks to me that the reflection you see is of the clock on the wall at the end of this pool...not a floating dvd :-) But for some reason I have the urge to order a dvd now.

Ha...nobody in the pool...at 5:55 in the morning, if it was my pool we just finsihed a really difficult practice, and are heading our for breakfast before going to the weight room and then off to classes ...

Responded Sep 30, 2007 06:28PM

I see what I will hopefully be seeing at 5:55 am within a year and a half. You see, the national group on my team (the highest level) is the only one that has practices before school, and it takes a sectional cut to get there, and that whats i'm aiming for

Responded Oct 01, 2007 04:58PM

Getting ready to turn :)

Responded Oct 01, 2007 09:58PM

It's 5:55am do you know where your swimmers are today? I do... They are stuck in the locker room because you forgot to unlock the door before taking the picture.

On a more serious note, the photo brings back fond memories of training. I loved being the first one in the pool for practice cutting through the water as smoothe as possible.

Responded Jul 08, 2008 06:00PM

aha. yeah i found myself waiting for it to open one morning.
and i haven't been back since then.
hahaha. :D
