I hope your masters team destroys in the upcoming season for how much you put into your practices.

Question - Why Zura Alpha fins? What do you feel that these fins offer as opposed to the Hydro fins or Zoomers?

Responded Apr 09, 2007 04:32PM

I've never used Hydro fins, so I don't know how to compare to those. I like the Zura Alphas because:
They float.
They are lightweight and easy to pack.
They are smaller than most fins, so you have to work a little harder with your core to get propulsion.
They have a larger blade than Zoomers, so they help you undulate and flow a little better on breast and fly.
You can do turns with them! They don't give you a huge UMPH when you do flip turns, and they allow you to tuck up your legs on open turns, and you can plant your feet on the wall and get a decent pushoff with them.
The downside is that they are currently unobtainable. Help, Zuradog!

But, goldenarms, you can use any fin and it's fine. There are a lot of good fins out there. It's whatever works for you.

Oh, I forgot one...today I put one Zura Alpha fin on top of the other and used them as a kickboard for a long kick set. They worked great! Just enough flotation.
